Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Devin and I’m currently shopping for my 4th ram.(2005,2014,2022) The day after Christmas I was hit in my TRX at a red light by a distracted driver at 50-60mph. My truck was totaled and because of the sweet deal I got on it (4% under invoice with 1.3% financing) It just doesn’t seem like a wise decision to get back into another TRX. ($25K more on msrp and $13K in financing, 5.5%)

I really think I’m going for a fully loaded Rebel, ram box, G/T package etc etc. I would wait for a 2025, but from what I’ve seen the 2025 Rebel is not getting the High Output I6 just yet. Unless anyone here has seen proof somewhere else saying otherwise….

My question for the group is do I buy the Rebel tomorrow or roll the dice and see if the rebates get a lot better on Feb 1st?

Every video and article I’ve watched and read says Ram has one of the highest inventory levels (in term of days) compared to others. Also with 2025 production beginning and these high inventory levels, it would make me think that rebates will only get better… what say you?

Devin

Looks like the frame is broken, though. I think a broken frame is an automatic write-off.
Pretty common to stick a new frame under a truck that new, especially when it's worth as much as a TRX is.I have a tech buddy who does new frames pretty often at his dealership.
If i was to hazard a guess,i'd lay odds there isn't a TRX frame available in north america at this point in time,so that'd force an insurance company into writing it off.
Be a good truck to buy back,as parted out there's probably at least $25,000 in parts on it

The frame was going to be 6+ months and no box availability, it also needed a rear axle. So it was totaled.

so no one wants to take a guess on the rebates????

Have you thought about buying it back,as low milege TRX drivetrains are bringing good money, even with-out the rear diff.

Prices and incentives REALLY depend on brand and availability of stock. Toyota dealers are selling their Vans up here at 35,000 over MSRP. Ram 1500s I can get at 15 to 20 below MSRP. You might want to check out buying a Canadian one, Yankee dollars are worth 1.38 here. Find someone who has a fleet number so the warranty is transferable. A `1500 at 50,000 Canadian is only 37,000 U.S.

Brand new 2023 TRX 105,000 in U.S. dollars No idea what a new 2023 costs there.

New 2023 Rebel 56,000 your dollars. This one is 12,000 off MSRP, I expect the incentives will get larger yet. I have seen some 1500 2023 models at 20,000 off MSRP already. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of new 2022, 2023 and 2024 sitting on dealer lots in Alberta alone and pickups sell really well here. Kind of like Texas.

There's a brand new TRX in Calgary that was damaged in shipping so it can't be sold, and it's being parted out, probably has everything needed to rebuild your truck,as it's not really all that damaged, but Ma Mopar has deemed it unsellable.

I’d wait and see what Feb rebates are personally, it’s one day and not like economy is getting better. Sorry for your loss, glad you are ok.

Me personally, I'd go for a 2500 Power Wagon with a big HEMI.....
Just take the transmission out of it and send it in for a huge performance upgrade right off the bat, and voila, rock solid power house! ;)

I vote to wait. The longer the better. It is a foolish time to buy a new vehicle right now.

I have seen Canadian Ram's set at the shop for over six months waiting for warranty work because they were sold in Canuckda

I betcha a Buick hit ya.

Incentives are never known to anyone until they are available, usually in the first week of each month. Incentives are also regional so what I may get in the Great Lakes region is different than what you may see in the South. If I was in your position, I would wait until March, which is typically "truck month" and some of the best deals are available then. But, you won't know for sure till then.

It is a goofy market, a few months ago a Bronco was selling for a few grand over MSRP. Now you can get a very good deal on one. For example, my wife ordered a Bronco on November 3, 2023, picked it up on the 19th of January, and she paid $1,000 under invoice.

In this current market, I would think you could pick up a new RAM somewhere around 19% off MSRP. A lot of folks on this forum use Mark Dodge dealership, located somewhere down your way. The dealership is active here.

AFAIK, there is an official process to follow when transferring a Canadian-bought Ram truck and then to have the warranty honoured in the USA. If not completed through official channels before the purchase, wave goodbye to the warranty.

New vehicles seem to be a pretty straightforward process whereas accomplishing the same with a used vehicle doesn't seem to be as clear.

Everything I have read clearly states that this transfer must be arranged with FCA, before the purchase.

Thanks!

For 2025s - correct no HO engine in the Rebel, and everything is TBD on the new RHO which will be, as far as we can tell, somewhere between a TRX and Rebel. Closer to Rebel. but we don't have pricing, configuration, or start date on that yet.

For 2024s the rebates for February just came out and are nothing to write home about. Generally $4500 off nationwide, plus a little extra on bighorns/laramies in SOME regions. A few regions got some bonus cash for financing with CCAP at market rates (not the promo rate).

The big news stories being screamed about for RAM inventory are mostly related to 2500s. 1500s you will actually see a pretty low supply of 2024s once we get to April/May. that may not help for rebates. Also keep in mind a Rebel rarely gets any special treatment, the way that Bighorn/Laramie do.

If you're seeing people talk about getting north of $15K off a Ram 1500 currently, it is MOST likely either a 2023 leftover (of which there is about 10% of the groundstock compared to 24s currently) OR they're in a Laramie and nailing all the available rebates (right region, have loyalty rebate too, etc). Dealers with big stock of 23's have 'em becuase they didn't discount worth much at all and are just now figuring it out with the help of Ram's 10% retail rebate on them.

Rebates are lowest I can remember. Buddy just purchased a Laramie at a local dealer at 20K off sticker. Think the MSRP was around 72K. Interest rates are still silly. Rebates aside, vehicle prices will never decline from the current state so don't expect a magical drop.

Can't imagine the rebates getting much butter plus the hemi is on the way out.

With that said, I would be attempting to fix the TRX. Dream truck for most of us.
