Hood

Hi. New to the forum. I need help. I want to replace my standard 2009 Laramie OEM steel hood with a OEM steel hood with the dual vents like this one. I think it’s called a Sport Hood. Anything can be done but is this doable? Besides painting it is this a plug and play project or are some MODS needed? Thanks all.

Welcome to the forum. I might be wrong, but believe any Sport hood from 2009-2018 will bolt right in. The hard part is finding one. I believe the Mopar part number is 82211065AJ. I had a 2013 Sport without the hood and briefly looked into finding one, but decided it was more hassle than I wanted to deal with.

Mopar calls it a "Hood with Power Bulge". The part # is 68160235AF and the best price I've found for a new one is a little over $1000. That's unpainted, etc. I believe the only part that isn't a direct swap is the liner. All the hinges, supports, latch, light, etc swap over. And you need to buy the two bezels/vent covers separately as well.

I'm looking to do this swap from stock to sport/power hood as I hit a deer and they need to swap the hood anyway. I think the part: 82211065AJ includes the scoops, as this is listed an an accessory. where the 68160235AF is hood only. Talking to the shop tomorrow about this.

After you installed your new hood, now you can do this to it......I added amber led's in the middle row that come on when I signal.
