Greetings,

So, one of the questions I had when my new truck arrives is - will I need to drive it a few hundred miles (break in period) prior to towing my 17k 5th wheel. My search on the forum reveals that most people (including the owners manual) say "Hook up and go"!

Well, unless I hear otherwise from you folks I guess that's my plan. That will make my wife happy since the new truck in going to arrive in prime camping season.

Thanks,
Bryan

If it was me I would drive it around and various speeds while not babying it to much before towing heavy.
I just feel it will allow the motor to be broke in better, but might not matter just my 2 cents.

500 miles before towing is recommended per the owners manual. Also, don't cruise at the same speed for a long period of time during those first 500.
