Horn honks when engine is running and the door is open

Why does my horn honk when the trucks in park and the drivers door is open with the engine running . is this a safety feature ?

I figured out the problem . Chrysler had two years were the horn would honk if the engine was running and the truck was in reverse with the door open . Its a safety precaution. I recently had a new transmission installed and the indicator on the dash is out of adjustment so in my trucks when its in park the computer actually thinks it’s in reverse because the little circle light that’s around the P is not lit up
