I have a '26 Laramie 3.0 that is doing a double chirp when opening the doors or tailgate. It also does this same thing about a minute after the doors are closed. I tried the following:

Double chirping noise under the hood when the following happens:
  • Touch door handle or open a door. Also happens when opening the tailgate.
  • Chirp also occurs when unlocking with the fob.
  • After closing a door, about a minute later, truck chirps again like something is resetting.
I have the proximity sensor turned off. I tried turning off the passive door unlock option. Neither off these being turned off made any difference in the chirp activating.
Currently the proximity sensor is turned off.

Walking near my truck with my phone and without the fob being anywhere near the truck will sometimes activate the chirping noise. I have the Ram app on my phone.
I took the truck to the dealer and they said nothing is wrong with it. I find it hard to believe this is something every new Ram does.
This a link to my noise.

I would very much appreciate it if someone with a Laramie, Limited, or Tungsten 3.0 tells me if their truck chirps like mine.

That sounds like your 4x4 actuator locking/unlocking. My limited does not make that noise when doing any of the things you mentioned.

It seems odd your doesn't make the noise yet the previous replay said his does. I've never heard a noise like this on any vehicle, especially when just opening a door.

My 2017 with the HEMI never made a noise like that.

My 2025 with the SST SO does, every time I open the door, and sometimes when I just walk by it.

Sounds like ZZZT - ZZZZT. That is the sound that I have not identified.

There is nothing in the owners manual about this noise. It is just plain weird. Based on the comments here, all with 3.0 SO, have the noise, HO does not.

Mine chirps just like yours does. I think it does it twice when I open any door or the tailgate. I have no idea why.

I have a 2025 Limited and it does not chirp. I have the proximity wakeup enabled.

You could try disconnecting both negative battery cables and leave them disconnected for an hour. Apparently it takes that long for all of the
computers to actually lose their power. I did that and it helped with a proximity wakeup issue I had.

I was at my dealer today to pick up my Durango after some service work. I played the clip for my salesman and he said his demo does the same thing, as so do all the trucks he has been in.
I'm not sure why the HO would be different that the Limited doesn't chirp. It has to be something with the new electrical system that started in '25.

Just picked up my 2026 1500 w/3.0.
Mine chirps when when it's been sitting in the garage for hours. It seems random. Also after closing the hood. I opened and closed the hood 4 times within about 5 minutes, thought there was a critter hiding. It did it every time, same noise.

I would love to know what it causing the stupid chirp. I have never heard this on any other car or truck. Glad to know it isn't just my truck.

Were they all 4x4’s?

Weird sounds like a critter in the engine lol. To be fair that BS would drive me crazy. Might take 2 people. One person fi wateva sets it off and other person to try and trace where sound coming from.

Just brought home a 2026 1500 Laramie 4WD with 3.0 and it makes the sound. Can't find out how to disable it. It happens when I touch the front passenger or driver door handle to open it, and sometimes seemingly randomly when my wife is in the garage without a truck key. First time I heard it, I felt like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack - "Whoa, did somebody step on a duck?”

Any answers out there?

johnts: my 26 Laramie 3.0 4WD makes the exact same noise as the one you recorded. Irritating. Just brought it home last Monday. First time, my wife thought a bird was trapped in our garage.

Wild guess: maybe something to do with proximity sensors ? Just throwing it out there. Pure speculation.
