How do I turn off weather alerts?

I'm getting weather alerts for counties 300 or more miles away! It's winter here in New England facrissake! I'm constantly clearing these alerts from my screen.

Is there a way to turn these annoying alerts off?

Hmmmm, good one. For me, it wasn't such an issue as to inquire about it, but now that you mention it the same thing happens and I'd love to turn them off as well! From the looks of this 10 day old post, I'd think we're out of luck.

Just so you know its not a u-connect thing. I get them in GM product as well. I am thinking its part of the XM radio service. I dont get them that often either, but I also am not sure how to dis-able the feature either.
