My last Ram (2013 quad cab lone star) I traded in had 149,151 nothing wrong with it (commuted between Dallas and Houston for 4years). Wife said time to get another Ram and she said I needed to change the exhaust on it (yes she’s a keeper). Haven’t done exhaust yet as I’m not sue what sound I’m looking for just yet. Also I gave my son my 2001 4.7 Dakota with 122,000 he drove it until it hit 191,000 and trade it on another truck

Ok this one definitely bears asking a few questions. First - is it a misprint? If not, is it the original powertrain? I sure hope so. What do you use for oil?

Thanks,

Joe

Original powertrain with oil changes every 3K miles, and transmission flushes every 20K, with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic, and Valvoline ATF+4 for the transmission.

The story of me and this truck go far back, in late 2012 i needed a truck coming up from a F-150 that was on its final breathes.

She was the main driver at the time for 6 people, she towed from New York to California, and vise versa with no hiccups. That was 2015-2016 ish and at that’s when i moved out.

She’s the vehicle that i took to meet my now husband, the vehicle that was used to adopt a child, and so many other things.

Sorry for rambling on, but i just felt like i had to get that out, lmao.

2016 Ram 1500 sport crew cab with 6’4” bed. I’ve put 102,000 on her so far and she’s still going strong! No mechanical issues so far!

I forgot to mention the used Dakota 4.7 that I bought for one of my other sons that has 142K on it!

Also I gave my son my 2001 4.7 Dakota with 122,000 he drove it until it hit 191,000 and trade it on another truck

I know, this is a RAM discussion, but I had to mention I had a 2005 Dakota (3.7 V6) that had 225K when the tranny solenoid pack went out and I bought my Ram. Motor was still running great. Part of the reason I stuck with Dodge was my experience with that Dakota. I beat the hell out of that truck, I loved it!

I've got over 97,000 on my 2004 Ram and it's still going strong. It's been a good truck so you should have many more years to drive your Ram.

Bought my '16 Lone Star Edition new and had approximately 40k miles before hauling 10k pounds of travel trailer and belongings from SE Louisiana to Concord California and back. She struggled at times maintaining at least 65 mph through hills and mountains. Sometimes downshifting and turning 4500 rpm's to do it. But made it without a problem. Truck is now at 73k and hardly driven since my wife adopted it. But when I need to pull the boat or just wanna feel the hemi power, it runs like day one. Only issue was the common broken exhaust manifold studs. I bought Ceramic coated BBK shorties and the problem is solved.

2010 1500 SLT 187,762 miles run on mobile 1 full synthetic for all but the 1st 21,000 miles. Still like new inside, outside and mechanically. (Replaced the A/C expansion valve last summer. Other than that only normal maintenance including oil change every 10,000 miles.
