I will say it's smart stratagy to join a forum dedicated to certain vehicles and make connections. Obviously people dedicated to these vehicles, given a great sale price, are certain sales. And then perfect salesmen for a dealership out in the wild. Go for mass sales numbers to make the money.
Now I will say, I know dealerships hold power to only a certain extent with the manufacturer, but after sales service is where a dealership can stand way above from other dealers. Most car buyers will stay loyal to a dealer that shows the same loyalty back, and is willing to go to bat for the customer with the manufacturer.
I think any standup dealer should be on whatever model forums. Join and interact like a member as well, not just a saleman. Creates a relationship.

Mark, I noticed your a supporting vender as well, more than a salesguy that is dropping his business card on the desk.
