right at 65,000 miles, time to do some maintenance this summer, arrrgh!! Bought the truck with 37k miles and changed the plugs, diff fluids, transfer case, and had the dealer flush the coolant and tranny fluids-done them before but not something i prefer doing in my driveway. Gonna be doing this hopefully soon-plugs, transfer and diff fluids, then try to get the truck into the dealer for coolant and tranny flush. Anything else u guys can think of that might need attention? Just changed the oil last weekend and rotated tires, along with cleaning the k&n from my cai. Truck's runnin great, but feel like i have to do this **** bc the manual calls for it lol

Haven't changed the plug wires yet, but with the coil packs over the plugs, do u just replace the coil packs? Don't even think it has plug wires, just the coil packs that slip over the plugs??

just found a very useful diy on here to clean the throttle body using brake cleaner, seems pretty easy and should help with throttle response, mine's felt a tad sluggish lately. Guess i'll be doin this also

Maintenance is key to a long lasting strong running truck. I think the owners manual is spot on. I've never known anyone to follow it and have issues!

I try to shampoo my carpets and seats once a year (normally in the spring, get all the winter nasty crap out). Not mechanical maintenance, but keeps the truck nice none the less.

There are plug wires, I got rid of the OEM long wires and went with Taylor Shorties

I'm right at 65000 as well and in the same boat as you with maintance. I was planing on doing the trans fluid and filter myself. What is the benifet to having the dealer do a flush as opposed to me just changing the fluid and filter? Sorry. I don't keen to hijack the thread but I though it might be relavent.

Most people will tell you not to do a flush. I didn't do a flush. Just dropped the pan and changed the filter and replaced the fluid that fell out. Seems to have worked well.

Coolant and tranny done!! Talked to the service tech when the truck was getting done and i guess they don't do a flush, they drop the pan and change the filters. Not sure why i thought they just hooked it up to a machine and flushed it. Little pricey, about $320 with tax for the tranny fluid and coolant change, but these are two items i don't care to mess with. Last time i changed tranny fluid i was covered in the ****, along with the driveway lol. Certain things i would just rather pay the dealer to do

Not a bad deal. The parts alone for the trans cost me 120 and that was with 25% off.

What did you buy? I spent like $65 on fluid and $25 on a filter. Done.

8 quarts ATF, 2 filters and the rtv. All mopar. Oh. And rear end rtv. I could have got it less at like auto zone but with the trans being chrysler's weak link I freaked out and went to a dealer.

Ah. Okay. I bought 7 qts ATF from the dealer. A transmission filter, screw on and flat filter. And then already had the rtv from doing the rear differential.

How about I baught a tube of rtf that said "trans rtf" and a tube of "rear end rtf" from the dealer. When I got home to look at the they are the same with a different label!

I had maintenance done by Dodge a couple thousand miles ago, changing the plugs, and I bought a new key fob at the time. Almost 800 bucks. I made the mistake of telling them to "do what it needs". Come to think of it, I'd better check the t-case and see if they could have done something to cause my grinding noise up front. I think it might have been doing it before a little, but I can't remember.

I flushed mine at work a few years ago..with about 80-85,000 miles. didn't change filters yet. i will when I am able to get a new trans pan(PML) with a drain plug. then ill just do a drain and refill every 10-20,000 miles.

Cant believe no one has brought this one up yet, fuel filter? To the OP you said your truck has been feeling sluggish lately. That might have something to do with it.

Thought the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump in the tank though? Truck is running great now after changing plugs and cleaning air filter/throttle body. Throttle is much more responsive
