Hey everyone,
I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on these valved mufflers. Very interested to get a set for myself I was curious if anybody had tried them. I've not seen it done on the ram before but on a bunch of other applications, they seem to work and fit very easily. I need that Valve control so my neighbors don’t hate me but also be able to enjoy how good these trucks sound. Any suggestions? Thanks for your input in advance.

Why are you wanting to go with these? In my personal opinion, that jeep sounded like trash and the valve open vs closed only made 16 dB difference per their video, which is not a lot. Keep in mind, that was in a parking garage, so it was probably louder than usual because of that as well.

These can't be cheap, why not invest in a good exhaust that will give you real hp gains along with sound. If you're really wanting extra loud on demand over a sportier aftermarket full exhaust, get some regular electric cutouts added.

Or, skip straight to electric cutouts before the resonator if you want straight pipe capabilities.

In terms of acoustic energy every 3dB is a doubling :Big Laugh:

But also this is a first post from a profile with no information and his name is "ramguy123" so there's about a 900% chance this post is spam from the company that sells the muffler and not a real Ram owner asking about a modification.

I would love to have a good valved muffler for my truck that one setting is basically stock and the other a decent performance sound. I know about the cut out options but IMHO don't want a pure straight exhaust sound for the "loud" setting. This technology is becoming fairly common on a lot of factory performance/sports cars and you can even buy kits for SxS's now.

Let's just complicate the crap out of everything. As if there isn't enough wiring, computers, and other "equipment" on newer vehicles.
"my muffler valve is stuck open please help I need to pass inspection!!!"

"garage wants 300$ to change the muffler solonoid and valve bearing!"

lol yea saw that im a instrument engineer and i hold valves at a max of 85db and a valve that is 98 db requires hearing protection

hey yea me too but when you get a chance look at the mustang active exhaust video- it opens and closes per RPM due to velocity

Thanks for all the responses. The reason I am interested in these mufflers is they open and close feature and they are far far better quality than the cutouts. I have had cutouts on my vehicles before and they always break. after doing some more digging these mufflers appear to be extremely robust and a far better option than cutouts or doing a full exhaust without valves.

:anitoof: :anitoof: :anitoof: But to be clear, you're an actual Ram Truck owner, who isn't a representative of the company that makes those mufflers, who is asking us in earnest about them because you haven't installed them yet but are considering it.
