2nd Gen Door Hinge Replacement, upper and lower

Can the upper and lower door hinges be changed with the door remaining on the truck. For example can you change and upper hinge and then change the lower hinge after changing the upper, or vice versa, or does the door need to be completely removed to change the hinges?
