I purchased a innovative performance chip and the reviews are not so clear. Just wanted to know if anyone had tried it. Before I installed it .

99% of the "performance chips" are snake oil scams.....This one is an IAT hack that is basically a .75 cent resistor that supposedly fools the ECU into richening up the mixture

I wanted to chip in (pun intended) on this thread. I was going to start a new one, and searched and found this one - which is apropos. I bought one of these (via - of all things - a Facebook ad, which I've since found most never live up to the ad's hype) a few years ago. It was easy to install on my 2019 Ram Classic with a 5.7L Hemi and I never noticed a bit of difference in either power, nor increased MPG as claimed. I contacted the company (via email) about it not making any difference numerous times, and finally someone replied and told me to ensure the splice connectors were fully engaged with the two wires they connect to. I did; they were, and that's the last I heard from them - even after replying it made zero difference. I just left it on, though at various times in the past couple years when changing the oil or whatever, I thought, "I should just remove that worthless thing." Then this week, my 'Check Engine' light came on, and the code reader at our local dealership (where I have a bumper-to-bumper extended warranty) revealed an 'intake heat sensor' issue. I dropped it off yesterday, and they spent half the day trying to run the issue down. It wasn't the sensor, and every time they'd clear the code, a new code would get thrown - all 'nuisance' codes. (Not detrimental to the overall functioning of the engine.) They finally called me and asked about the 'chip' and I told them to tear it off. The tech removed it, put heat-shrink on the wires and all problems disappeared. I have to pick it up today; I suspect I'll have to pony up $$$ for their efforts as it was NOT a 'warranty' issue. It was self-inflicted. Avoid these things like the plague!!
