I had bent push rods on a mower I bought. The cylinder was caked with mud, grease, grime and all else. The cylinder and head was running hot and the valve guide was being pushed out. I had the guide reseated, cleaned the cylinder, and hammered the rod straight, after all was said and done it ran perfectly. This was during covid when I was buying, fixing and flipping mowers. Fully disclosed all to the new buyer and sold the $400 mower for $1600. Not bad, and only 10 or more hours to get it all straightened out and working again.
Tis was a John Deere D160, with a mower grass catcher in perfect shape. Alls good for me and the buyer. Lost was on the farmer that was too lazy to figure it out and fix it.
