Hello,

I'm going to be doing some TLC to my newly purchased '12 RAM 3500 Laramie.

The silver trim around the front cup holder stash area has some scratches on it and I'm thinking of repainting it back to the silver color.

Is there an interior trim silver paint specific for this use?

If not, has anyone done any trim painting and have a brand and color they used?

Many thanks in advance.

I use a bonding promoter/primer then a base primer(color corresponding)
i.e white primer for light colors red for red tones gray and black on dark colors
I prefer dupli color products for interior paint and rustoleum on exterior. 12a0fcd330d28b955dabc58127e65de4.jpg
Even exterior paint on plastic I begin with the adhesion promoter.
Added:: use dish soap and I water to prep everything before painting

for a silver trim restoration like this, I wonder if a vinyl wrap would be a better option? its really more like a polished stainless steel is it not? if its a chromish finish, the chrome paint will likely look flat and like...paint, not chrome.

For chrome paint it takes more attention to detail to make it come out right.
Vinyl wrap can be a ***** to work too.
Granted the chrome paint ain’t worth **** for use under the hood. It’ll always turn gray no matter what

Not saying paint is the best option for that particular application but if paint is chosen... SEM is great stuff

+1 on the adhesion promoter.
I did exactally what your doing because when the sun hits that chrome it gets in your eye. Plus... I hate chrome. Scratched it up a bit w the sand paper, then did adhesion and then color match paint from Duplicolor
