Evening boys and girls, been lurking around a few days now to get ideas for my "new to me" truck and answers to questions. Been around car forums for a number of years, so figured it's about time to introduce myself to this one. In the past few days I've learned a ton and even gotten my build sheet saved in to the new mod folder (yeah, been at this OCD car game a while) and started the new build sheet.
So, about me and my vehicle history. As my profile states, I'm a very happily married guy with 3 young boys (10, 8 & 2), an old basset hound and a few chickens in the back yard. I smoke cigars and tobacco pipe way more than I should and I enjoy my whiskey and beer; even picked up homebrewing this last year. Currently I'm stepping in to my Ram from a 2008 Subaru WRX STi which I traded in my last truck to get. It was and is a great car, but I figured between the fact that I was dropping $1200-1500 each tax season on "fun" parts, and being that I'm set to retire from active duty in about 5 yrs, I'd better make a move back in a more sensible direction. I will most likely have a fun sports car again one day, but for now, I’m good with fun, utility. As far as cars owned in the past, they include 2 Fords, 2 Subaru's, 2 Nissan's, a Chrysler and a Jeep.
The Ram then. She’s a 2013 SLT Big Horn that I picked up used. A little higher on mileage (barely 29,500 today) and a few more dents, scratches and bruises than I’d like, but so far so good. I was intent on keeping payments low and I met my goal, so happy wife, happy life. Had them install a sunroof as part of the sale price, already have some wheel-to-wheel nerf bars ordered and have a few other thoughts in mind over the next few months. Looking forward to learning from and getting to know you all.
