I have a set of Silver (Mopar PS2) bushwhacker knockoffs in the for sale section. PERFECT match to Metallic Silver paint.

Oh yeah, I have a B&W triple ball with a 5" drop.
Ok. Don’t think I could see the hitch in the picture. Is it built in to the bumper or does it retain the factory hitch receiver

Hard to believe it has already been FOUR years that I have had this bumper. Tomorrow will be exactly 4 years since the start of this thread. Anywho, time for an update!

Overall, I am pretty happy with the bumper. It has held up structurally without any issues. Even the coating has held up. No peeling/ rust or anything. I will say, some fading has set in. But, my truck is parked outside and it experiences 100% of the Southern California Mojave area sun. So, it is to be expected.

I have been working on my bumper the past few days. To include taking this heavy beast off:
4d9a6a91167b557db792b3e8f9b17bf0.jpg
^ Has not been through the car wash in a loooong time. Prob should have hosed it down for you guys.

Loaded it into the bed of my truck and off to the welder:

Got it back from the welder. And like in my previous post mention above, the coating bubbled from the extreme heat of the welder. Normal. I don’t care what the coating is (line-x, rhino liner, etc), it will bubble up.

Had me thinking, maybe my bumper could use a fresh coat for its birthday!

I got most of it off. I was more curious than anything. It has, what appears to me, a nice layer of primer to help prep the surface for the “Black Shield” adhesion.

Here is a photo of the new mounts that got welded in:

The new light mounts are custom to my lights. I had them also remove that tunnel/ housing ring thing because it allows the lights to be recessed to much and hinders adjustability/ aiming.

I know it looks absolutely horrendous right now. Don’t worry. I am off to media blasting then to my local Line-X dealer! Will have a brand spanking new looking bumper again.

Stay tuned......

Going to be Line-x. They are a short drive from my house. I honestly, other than my bumper, never heard of Black Shield :D

So, update time! Super excited. I decided to not get “Line-X.” The guy quoted me too damn much and kept hitting me with sales pitches. So, when I went to pick up my bumper from Media blast, the guy offered something called “Black Wrinkle Powder Coat.”

Of course Line X would probably be more durable than powder coat. But the cost was $200 for media blast and Powder Coat vs $500 for media blast then a drop off at Line X.

Looks good.

I have to admit though...as I scrolled I found myself hoping you were going to do a white bedliner type finish. I think it would be sexy as hell on your truck.

Either way it’s looking good. Cool to see it’s held up so well for the years you’ve used it.

Check out these custom mounting points for my light bar. Much better than what I had before. And, it all got powder coated too. Very happy with it.

I did have the welder add some mounting tabs to the top hoop (I recommend IronBull Bumper offer this) and put my light bar up there for *****.

Honestly, did not really light it. But, some pod lights would look great. Over kill, yes, but iiiiiiits all good.

looks great. i put an aftermarket bumper and winch on my 2019 Wrangler. was pretty straight forward but they had videos, even though it was install on a JK rather than a JL. I thought about getting one for my 2014 1500 Sport. Were those lights aftermarket? do you know if the the Factory lights from the sport fit the bumper?
I hit a deer on 3 July with my Harley Davidson Geezer Glide. Deer did not fare well, neither did my scoot but it stayed upright, stayed running and got me home. It did $6000 worth of damage to the scoot but i got it fixed rather than take the pay out. all is good as new. thats why i got my bumper for the jeep.....most of my commute was 0130 hrs in the morning.

Wow, hard to believe it has been five years since I started this thread. Well, true to my word, he is my yearly update.

I still have the bumper. I did have a shop weld in some tabs on the top hoop awhile back. I might, or might not, have already mentioned that.

For the people on this thread that also got an Iron bull bumper, please share your experience thus far. I am doing well and the bumper has held up 100%. Thing is solid.

Any questions? Thanks for reading.

Can you still fit your hands in the front bumper access holes ? if you ever mount a winch you'll need to fit your hand through one of them to engage the winch clutch lever. It seems the lightbar mounting brackets are now obstructing the access holes ?

I can still fit a hand down on both sides. You bring up a good point. Was pondering the idea of removing the top hoop and putting a 40” curved bar across the top. Now that would absolutely block the top access points haha. A winch is in the works. I just don’t have much need for one at the moment. But, eventually a winch will be put in.

Seven years and the bumper is still holding up strong! No issues as of today and most drivers stay out of my way which means I haven’t had to have a traffic collision durability test yet. Thankfully. I am a defensive driver and the bumper does present a visible formidable defense to anyone contemplating cutting me off. Extra points for safety!
