Is this a good price, or should I try to do better?

so they are charging like $700 to install?

Maybe

I'm definitely gonna ask them to do better, just the shop I was gonna cross-shop with before I got back to them moved and the guy who told me didn't really tell me where other than the Rt they're on

Convert, for now.
Engine
small
Most are like a 12 pack with a buddy to install. Most nerf bars 1 to 1.5 hours to do.
Id hire a buddy and pay him $100 and beer...be miles ahead.

Got an idea who said buddies are, sounds like an idea

I've never done a tonneau but the side steps are simple on this truck. It takes longer to get the paint off the bolts than it does to put the steps on. No way I'd pay that kind of money to install. Most tonneaus have clamping systems that make them pretty simple these days.

And my friend and his buddy offered to help me w/em, so I might just order the parts myself and have them install em, then pay them for it

Why buy 3-inch round steps? Take a look at 4-inch ovals instead. Wider foot area and probably costs about the same. By the way, Raptor (brand) has the best warranty for black steps which is 10 years. Also, you want WELDED end caps. Don't by steps that have open ends or plastic end caps.

That was more an example, but now that you pointed me in the right direction, going to look into Raptor.

Thanks @Stage4

$1,510 for a roll up Tonneau cover (not exactly this, but similar: https://www.americantrucks.com/extang-ram1500-express-tonno-roll-up-tonneau-cover-r109933.html) and side steps (Black, probably like this: https://www.americantrucks.com/blac...inch-round-side-step-bars-black-9bdg306a.html).

That's parts and labor total

Thanks in advance

Rogue
Not good way too high for a roll up you can get an electric on for that amount.
