Looking for help with this.. connect trailer to truck all lights works as they should but have no trailer brakes.. took truck side plug apart all looks good.. set trailer controler to 10 tape it on and went to back of truck in which it took at least 10 seconds or so till test light showed power going to trailer brake pin, which i would say means controller is ok? but when hooked to trailer there is no brakes... ground in truck side plug looks ok... when i put a block in cab to apply the brakes ( with brake controller in normal position ) i donot get power to the trailer brake pin in the truck side plug.. what am i missing here

Have you tried that trailer hooked to a different truck, or a different trailer on your truck? Just went through an issue on my truck and one of the trailers where it stated "no trailer connected" or something like that. All the lights were working but the brakes were not. After some diagnosis I found the brake wiring on the trailer was broke. I believe the controller on the truck is "smart" enough to detect an issue like this and turn off power feeds. I do know if the truck is running and you unhook the trailer, it will pop up that message also until you restart it. Point being make sure you are looking at the trailer also for an issue. From my experience dealing with trailer related electrical issues it's almost always the trailer that has issues.
