copy/paste from another board:

This is a NEW JBA part that is in stock and ready to ship. You guys wanted a stainless header that did not break the bank so here it is.:rck:

There is no mistaking that the 5.7L Hemi has first class power in the truck and SUV market. JBA's new Stainless Steel 1 7/8” Long Tube Headers for this awesome power plant have been engineered to deliver more of that power throughout the RPM range where it can be put to good use. Any truck owner can tell you that low-end torque comes in handy when hauling or cruising. Mid-range power when charging a hill or passing on the freeway rates high on the wish list too. JBA addressed both of these areas and added an extra 30+ hp to the peak power as well. How does an extra 24 lb-ft. @ 2100 RPM sound? You have plenty of options to suit your needs as well - "works" finish stainless steel or high heat rated ceramic coated.

Features
• 3/8" thick laser-cut flanges
• Firecone® technology collector
• One piece CNC Mandrel-bent stainless steel 1-7/8" primary tubes
• JBA sealing rings on head flange
• Premium quality hardware included
• 02 Extensions Included in kit
• Optional ceramic coating (thermal barrier)
• 360 degree Tig & Mig welds
• Oversized exhaust ports

This header kit come with reducers so you can hook them up to the factory Y-pipe or we will have a couple different options on Y-Pipes in the near future. Parts are already in stock at Moe's Performance or your favorite retailer.

Matt, they claim you have them but I don't see them on the Moe'sPerformance website yet.
Can you get me a quote on a set (6961SJS) Silver Ceramic Coated) shipped to Edmonton?

Doubtful, they will fail a visual inspection because they move the cats out of there factory location.

They look exact copies of the ARH longtubes.... minus the ball/socket of the ARH.

Yep, I think you are right on. Just checked JBA site and they have a big notice saying that they DO NOT pass in Cali. :(

One more reason to add to my long list of why I need to move out of this state...

so they completely delete the OEM cats?

I haven't bothered to look at the original manifolds

No Cats

if you need them you would have to add them on your own,
in addition to a new cross-pipe and Y pipe like ARH's LT's

Here's my stock cats after JBA Shorties, with a Maggy Y pipe

My JBA Shorties compared to Stock 4G cast iron Log manifolds

I no longer need Cat's, the rear o2's are tuned out since adding a Supercharger kit,
and the stock cats are the biggest restriction in my setup now.

nice, cant believe how cramped those OEM manifolds are. If I get headers I want to run it with cats, tired of having to worry about the yearly state inspection.

Oooooh I like the looks of these. First Edmonton is getting a Carl's Jr, now JBA makes long tubes. Ill have to get jobber price and see if I can get them through work here, test them out. If those bolt up directly to the OEM flange on the midpipes, then Ill be a happy camper!

Good find!

They will not direct bolt to anything stock except at the heads.
Only Shorties are a direct bolt in replacement to stock manifolds
(see pictures I posted on page 1)
Long tubes move the collector about a foot and a half further down stream (eliminating the stock cats and the ball flange)

Anyone installing these will need new custom mid pipe bent and welded in.
(and cats if they don't have the rear o2's tuned out)
and a new Y pipe.....or new pipe to a dual-in dual-out muffler.

Kind of leaning to a new 18" Magnaflow 2 in 2 out muffler with a built in x myself (currently have 22" Maggy catback)

FYI, for the Cali guys - Jba shorties ARE carb certified, but that is about it.

BBK shorties will NOT pass smog (despite the fact that they are made in California).

I've been thinking of running two separate mufflers, what's your reasoning behind this dual in dual out setup?

The two sides need to be linked with an X or and H to take advantage of exhaust scavenging (google it :) )
...in a nut shell, The exhaust pulses from one side creates a vacuum effect pulling alternating pulses from the other bank for better overall flow.

The muffler I'm looking at has a built in X pipe, similar to this:

...plus its cheaper than buying two mufflers

I wonder if it still has the same scavenging properties as a seperate x pipe - it appears to be perforated, would that affect it?
