A Tru X and Two mufflers would be slightly better,
but not enough (IMHO) to warrant the extra cost of more pieces to buy and weld into place.

X Muffler $109 clamp on install

X pipe ($100) and two mufflers $200 (plus extra pipe and welding) ...might cost $350 - $400

Okay I see your reasoning behind this.. So in a nut shell that 18" muffler is a muffler and x-pipe all in one package?

That being said, what would sound quality be like with that one muffler compared to let's say, two 14" mufflers.. Or two 18" mufflers if need be

Yes, all in one

Material: 100% Stainless Steel - Satin Finish
Body Shape: 5in.x8in. Oval
Inlet/Outlet Size: 2.5in./2.5in.
Body Length: 18in.
Overall Length: 24in.
Core Size: Dual 2.5in.

My best guess is that a dual muffler setup would be almost twice as quiet as a single of the same size, since there is twice as much sound insulation. ;)

A correctly placed X that is equal length from each collector wpuld be the ideal set-up for someone who plans to go all out N/A with the addition of a little spray ;). For boosted applications it doesn't really matter that much.

That's another added bonus I'm looking forwatd to with this setup.

Moved from Huntington Beach to Daytona Beach in 2008 and never looked back. $176 to register my new ram. For 2 years. Smog Inspection? What's that? Bring on the long tubes.

Where you at?

Guys, we did receive our first stock order of these today along with a bunch of shorty kits. This first round, we only got in 1 each of the stainless, silver ceramic, and the titanium coated. I have not even unwrapped the pallet yet, so it will probably be later this evening before we get these added to the website.

I am still concerned about the 1 7/8" primary for the bolt on guys, but I like that you are free to do what you want with the X or y-pipe. I will post more info on this over the weekend once we get caught up.

Funny, I just posted that on DT too,

1-7/8" primaries coupled with no cats would likely result in a loss in low end torque without a supercharger/turbo.
...not a problem for me though :burnout:

BTW...

"we only got in 1 each"

in case they haven't been claimed yet ....DIBB's on the Silver Ceramic!!! :banana-mario:

That's the only thing I don't like is that there is no option for these in 1 3/4"...

I think 1 7/8" is perfect if you have a supercharger planned in the future. If not then yeah, the 1 3/4" would be better.

Or put the bottle on lol

What if you do a cam? Just curious how a cam would do with the 7/8" size. I'm more familiar with GM. So when it comes to Mopar. I'm still learning.

I think if you did a head and cam combo the 7/8" would be beneficial - especially if its a cam that is set up for bottom end torque.

More cubes or high RPMs would show the benefits of the 1-7/8" otherwise you're gonna lose some low end scavenging(lose of low end power). A bigger cam and heads with the same displacement can still only flow so much, and in stock form this little 345CI engine with Eagle heads flows a lot of air makes decent power for what it is.

Maybe wait until you get a chance to hear the Stainless Works on mine before you pull the trigger.

Talon got a chance to hear it a bit when I met up with him to buy the JBA shorties off him.

Haha, I heard that Talon finds the drone on his SW LongTubes/JBA Catback exhaust annoying and is swapping in a 22" Magnaflow now.

Sorry, not interested in sound at all. I'm currently running a Maggy Cat Back (22") and it's as loud as I need.

I'm much more about maximum performance and that requires an X pipe system for scavenging and a Magnaflow flow-through muffler behind a set of long tube headers with no cats and 1-7/8" primaries behind a 500HP supercharged Hemi.

I hate loud exhausts, especially chambered mufflers like blowmasters :shakehead:

I do like when someone rev's their loud obnoxious exhaust at the lights trying to intimidate me though, only to get dusted by my sleeper LOL!
