Picked my first 3/4 ton truck up today in the Austin, TX area and drove her home to Dallas (ish). CCLB 4x4 6.4L tradesman...nothing too fancy, just the essentials. Went back to the granite color that my '04 RAM was. The weather was pretty crappy, but at least I got a picture when it was freshly rained on.

220 mile drive home, driving 70-75 with a solid 20mph headwind the whole way, and EVIC was showing 15.6mpg with MDS hardly every kicking in...only down the steeper hills. The wind was killer, blew me all over the place.

What oil are you guys running in your 6.4's? What's keeping it the most quiet?

Full synth. It'll be the srt stuff when you get yer freebies from the dealer and then whichever flavor you get sold on from these guys. Congrats, sir. You are now the owner of one badass truck. Please proceed to the DIY thread and keep us up with yer mods. [emoji41]

You simply do not understand the level of junk I am referring to haha.

Isn't that something. I have $90,000 worth of vehicles in the driveway & maybe $10,000 worth of crap in the garage. I have been meaning for 5 years now to build a shed to put the crap in, just hasn't happened yet. The house was built in the mid 70's & the garage doors are very small so I don't think the 2500 would fit but maybe the Durango.
Congrats on the truck! I've got an Outdoorsman in the same color.

Yeah my house was built in '83, small little thing with a single car garage. I actually built a 14x16 (biggest city allows) in the back yard to put all the garage junk in so that the wife can park her car in the garage. Well, all I use the shed for is to store batteries that I buy/resell, and all the junk is still in the garage.

Nice long bed. That is my only regret on my 2500 purchase in not getting the long bed.

Yeah I'm really happy with the color, a good bit darker than my gray 04 ram. And yeah the long bed is nice when you need it. I've always had short bed trucks but only shied away from a long bed because of the long boat look. With a HD 4x4 I won't have that issue after I put 35s on it.

Thanks guys...already dropping some cash into it, just bought seat covers (Carhartt gravel color) for front and back along with some floor mats. I work construction with red chalk, so dirty feet and chalky arms/clothes are sometimes in the truck...gotta keep it as protected as I can!

Almost pulled the trigger on some Nfab wheel to wheel step bars (dad has the polished ones), but figured I'd check the local truck accessory place that's right down the road and see what they have. Really debating not doing wheel to wheel, but I do have a toolbox against the cab, and if I ever lift the truck it'll be an even bigger pain getting into it without a step.

3.73, I found it impossible to get a tradesman with the 4.10 unless I ordered it. Kinda wish I had gone with the 4.10, but I assume I'll have to do a gear swap whenever I change to larger tires, in order to keep it from struggling up small hills and to keep rpms where they need to be on the highway. I drive 90% highway miles.
