Hi Guys, After owning and fixing our 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 4x4 and fixing it seldomly over these years our luck ran out and the BIG money repairs started to catch up to us. Mostly front axle seal leaks, front suspension (everything), and some oil leaks, not to mention the new steering gear we put in. We were apparently driving on a bad one since the day we had it. The truck steered like a boat before that repair. We will miss BLURPLE (it was purple blue with a silver speed stipe and accents. Everyone liked that big bad truck. I do not think that truck ever failed us or left us stranded once!

Now we have a nice shiny new Flame Red Ram 2500 HD 4x4 Tradesman 6.4Liter Hemi, which we love, and hope it will last us at least 15 years! It drives nice and was way better equipped than I expected the "work truck" version to be! Thinking of naming this one FRED (F-ing Red

Okay maybe Flaming Red...) Could use help on male truck names...

We figured we better buy a truck now while they were $10K off the sticker price as next year the tarifs and general state of things might make this truck $10k-$20k more in the future.

You guys gotta get the Dee Zee DZ43301 Truck Tailgate Assist. I can't believe we went 12 years in the 1998 Ram without one as that tailgate was twice a heavy...

I just got a Line-X Premium spray in bedliner so I hopefully won't dent the crap out of the bed like the old Dodge and won't be afraid to put anything in the bed.

I also just added the little blue antenna so I could get in and out of the garage without the clank clank clank every time. Bonus, it actually works for FM stations in town.

CURRENT UPGRADES:
Dee Zee DZ43301 Truck Tailgate Assist (must have!)
Line-X Premium Spray in Bed Liner
Stupid Little 3" Blue Antenna from Amazon, Lol

FUTURE UPGRADES:
Seat Covers
Tinted Front Windows
2.5" Fancy Drop Hitch (not sure what brand yet, any suggestions for towing
10,000 lbs.
Build a platform in back so I had a flat surface...20180727_235734.jpg 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4.jpg 2018 Ram 2500 Right Side.jpg 20180802_115709.jpg 20180810_124518.jpg 20180727_235734.jpg 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4.jpg 2018 Ram 2500 Right Side.jpg 20180802_115709.jpg 20180810_124518.jpg

Truck name: FRED.
The name is also the same as my service dog. I’m a disabled Marine veteran.

I couldn’t agree more with the deezee TGA.
Harbor Freight has an adjustable drop hitch that’ll serve you well. It’s a class V. There’s a bunch of different height settingsddde004136fe2d8b3c44c812bc0cf637.jpg
8n1 They have it on sale very often for $20.

Be careful not to loose the receiver adapter. They can be hard to find and don’t waste your money at the stealership

Thanks guys, I'll probably get that Harbor Freight Hitch as a emergency backup to keep in the horse trailer but was thinking of the Weigh Safe Silver 6" or 8" drop (in case next set of tires is a bit bigger) in the polished alloy or stainless even in the 2.5" shank version. Not sure if I have to get a Anderson anti sway hitch though for a 8000 pound toy hauler. I don't remember seeing a 2.5" cool looking adjustable ball mount hitch that you could add anti sway to if needed at a later date???

Welcome! Nice pics! I love my DeeZee tailgate assist too. Its nice not having to worry about somebody other than myself dropping my tailgate.
