Good Choice on a tow-vehicle. They call the 1500’s “Heavy Duty Half-Tons) but they are really only good heavy-duty family-cars and light-duty trucks… The 2500’s (and up) are real trucks/tow vehicles.

Congrats, love the red.

Let us know if we can help with any mods. We offer bed covers and some great muffler kit and resonator delete options as well!

Smart move, for inquiring minds who might wanna know how much do you save by getting a 10k mile trucks? For 24 no 10 year anyhow, but I hear the ten year warranty doesn't transfer anyhow if someone was waiting on this strategy.

The original MSRP was 61k. They had 46k on their window sticker. I paid 36k. KBB puts trade in at 39k.

If you have the savings to buy outright, you'll probably save at least several thousand. But if you have to finance, be careful and look closely at what you'll pay over the loan term. Sometimes the difference in interest rates with a used truck, will mean you pay just as much as for a new truck in the end, even if the price of the truck itself was lower.

The 1500 does ride nicer. No doubt about that but the 2500 with the coil springs doesn't ride bad. It's my daily driver. My wife even commented on how nice it rides for a heavy duty truck.

What's the ride like now? My first truck was a 2500 and I have just gotten used to the rough ride. I am curious if the 1500 is significantly better

If all your roads are table top smooth, it's not a big difference. If your roads look like insurgents hit it with light mortars, then it's a bigger difference. The Power Wagon splits the difference, but is still doesn't suck up the bumps as well as a half ton. It's not objectionable, but it's definitely noticeable.

Why does the Power Wagon ride better than other 2500's?

They are designed with off roading in mind. Softer springs, different shocks, little bit taller, among other things.

Like rzr6-4 said, it's a different suspension. Softer springs with more travel, different shocks, different front swaybar (that disconnects), front radius arms have more travel, 17" rims so taller sidewalls than 20" rims.

You give up tow capacity and payload, though.

I also just upgraded from an 09 1500 to a new 24 2500 tradesman. Loving it so far. The ride actually seems better than the 09.
I bought the oem mats and they were expensive, but I like them a lot.
Considering undercoating before I get too many miles on it.

Your PU should have come with a hitch reducer from the factory. Check under the rear seat and in the rear in floor bins under the floor matts. If it isn't there get the Dealer to supply one. Mine was missing on my 2500 and my dealer just ordered one for me.

I have the OEM all weather. Like them so much I ordered a set for my wifes Jeep and threw out the Weathertecs that were only 3 years old.

You will really enjoy the 2500. Tows much better and rides decent for a 2500.
