Would it be possible to remove a 13+ year laramie style front seats from the mounting brackets and whole assembly and reconnect them to a 2009-2012 laramie power assembly so that you get the new style seats on top of the old style controls ect?

My problem is that both heated seat function in my 2009 laramie is not working aswell my driver side bolster is ripped.

I'm hoping that it's the heating element in my seats thats problem.

Not without some major mods. The wiring is different.

Ram seats commonly wear at the bolster. There's a frame piece that put's pressure (pinches) the foam from sliding in/out 10,000 times... or whatever that number is since 2009.

You can buy replacement seat covers, foam and heating pad/s for your truck. There are some Y/T videos how to replace. Again Check Ebay and Amazon for replacement seat covers for your year. I replaced mine. Looks and feels like new!! One of the best things I did. And it was pretty easy. HERE is an example.

As for the heated seats, more than likely a wire in the seat heater pad has broken ...just from age/wear, and the pad needs replacing. It's pretty common. Universal heating pads are available pretty cheap. I would go that route. Much cheaper. Again, check Ebay/Amazon. But it could also be a relay or fuse ...even wiring, so don't forget to check those. But dollars to doughnuts there's a broken wire in the heating pad.

Seat Foam:
There are different seat foams available and they're NOT all the same. A lot of people go for the Gino's...and that's like 2x stiffer than stock. If you're a bigger guy and you want stiffer, it might be perfect. Then there is one from China. I've heard good things but I never ordered one. I did order one from that Tx outfit ..same as the Gino's unit...and I sent it back. I didn't want one that was stiff riding all the time. Why endure that??! My back is good, and I want to keep it that way! Plus...if you want to be technical, the dimensions aren't the same as stock. It's close and it'll work. But slightly different.

I found an OEM Mopar replacement seat cushion and went that route. The Gray Mopar's are kind of a high-tech deal where they use two different densities of foam in the same cushion: Center is the exact same density as your OEM seats. The outside is a denser foam so it can resist wear getting in/out. It's dimentionally the same as OEM. The quality was visibly better than the Tx unit. Sorry Texas factory!! The Mopar seat cushion was also made in the USA.

The positive is the sides of the Mopar cushion being stifer makes for better side support. It also should outlast the OEM cushion much better b/c it can withstad the weight of sliding in/out ...due to the more dense foam on the side. The negative is if you have a wide bottom (and I don't) ...but if you do, it might very well pinch the sides of your bottom. (the sides being stiffer than the center). Almost for sure it will. Maybe that's good for you...maybe not?? For me it's not a problem b/c I'm about normal weight and butt width..lol. But a bigger guy might want to try the China cushion from Amazon which should be softer ...and see how that works out. As i understand, it's OEM like density across the board. If you don't like it send it back.

The re-upholstery process is: Remove seat. Unbolt the upper half. Place seat bottom on a table/bench so you can work with it. Remove cover and then cushion. Install new seat cover using hog ring pliers to secure the cushion. It's pretty obvious where the rings go..they're marked. You can't miss the locations. Tractor Supply had the best deal on hog rings/pliers locally. Some guys will say to use zip ties... IDK... It's not a job I'd want to do twice. You have to insert the nose of the hog ring pliers (and rings) deep into the slot pockets....it might be a real PITA to try to fish zip ties in those real tight spots. Spend the $6 and get a hog ring pliers and 7/16" hog rings so you don't have problems down the road. Spend some money and do it 'right'. Your new cushion will probably last another 15+ years!!

Best of luck!!!

HERE is an example of the RAM Mopar factory replacement seat cushion. $295. That's pretty rich, but if you want factory fit... one that should last another 15-17yrs ...it's one way to go. Seems like a lot, but as I say it's a dual-density foam, fits like all other Mopar (vs aftermarket) parts do, and should outlast other solutions. I was able to find a new one on Ebay for a lot less ....$175. I also purchased a brand new Mopar NOS seat cover for my truck (old stock still in the Mopar bag), a few yrs ago(on Ebay), which was a 100% match and fit, to what my truck came with. But even the regular aftermarket seat covers/cushions like THIS seem to be pretty good, per other owners. And there are leather covers to match RAM leather seats too.

HOWEVER.... now...having said all this. If you don't care for the material or color of your seat covers, or wish your tk had leather or something else. Now would be the PERFECT time to consider a new set of covers. Whatever you always wanted. Replace them all. They sell those too. It takes some work, but not *that* difficult. I kind of wish I had changed mine from the crappy ...scratchy... cloth to something else. And EVEN if you find aftermarket covers you like, LIKE THESE ...but they happen to be 'slip-on' covers and you don't like slip-on covers, you could install them using the hog ring pliers, or take them to an upholsterer and have them professionally installed for not that much ...so they look like factory installed covers. Just throwing that out there. Or if you want THE BEST get some Katskins covers (google them).

Once I was finished installing my new seat bottom/upholstery, I shampoo'd and shop-vac'd my other seats and the rest off the interior. It was a great job done. I can't believe I put up with my crapped-out seat cushion for as long as I did. Well, best of luck!

That's a massive amount of support and I'm very appreciative guys !

I hooked up mu Xtool scanner yesterday after work to clear a check engine light and the code I'm getting for the HSM is B1E991E front left heater control 1- Circuit Resistance Out of Range.

I never tested OHMS on any of circuits bc I'm unsure which wires are which under there, but that sounds like there is a high amount of Resistance in the circuit going to the pad.

Thoughts ?

Would you have the part numbers for the front left and right heater cntrls and the heating pads.
I checked on ebay with those links you sent for the seat cover and cushion replacements. There are a lot of different mopar modules that cover the 2009 - 2018 gen.
Replacing the parts and cushions can be an easy fix .

More than likely your seat heat pads are open-circuit. Look for something like THESE...only for your Ram. You need to put in your tk's VIN and do a search on some site.

Or, Just google "seat heat pad, carbon fiber" Make sure you match up if yours are 3-position heat (or two), to get a matching pad/s. If you don't want to mess around with aftermarket, I see Mopar has them (not cheap!). Yeah, that stuff isn't cheap!

Maybe do a search on this forum. I personally haven't replaced mine. My tk doesn't have them.
