I want to put led's in my third brake light and reverse lights. Has anyone experienced the constant glow and had to add resistors? If so what size. I only want to do it once if possible so any help is appreciated.

reverse lights, wont be needed.

for third brake light, yes if its a new replacement. I have a recon LED 3rd brake light and needed to add (2) 150ohm resistors for the cargo and brake lights.

but when I just replaced the bulbs in my stock third brake light I didn't need resistors

Would it be easier/cheaper to just buy the already made resistors from JJ?

Not sure arth that's why I'm throwing it out there. I just ordered all the bulbs from super bright led. I've read some bulbs and trucks need them. Kinda sounds like its a crap shoot, some need them others dont

I agree it is at random sometimes. I know the rear led resistors for the turn signals is a requirement. The cargo lights as well I think.

I've replaced all of mine and didn't have any issues. The only time I've seen the need for resistors are for signal markers. Just my $0.02.

you wont need them for anything besides turn signals, in my experience. ive replaced every bulb with LEDs and these were the only ones that needed them.

Thanks for the input fellas.

Please keep us updated on the 3rd brake. I am curious if it will glow without resistors.
