I have a camper on my truck and I'm getting sick and tired of the warning telling me my third brake light is out. I don't want to remove my shell to replace it each time. Does anyone know what resistor value I can put in the light so the warning goes away?

It is a 12v 16 watt, 1.4 amp bulb, so the resistance value would be about 9 ohms (rounded).

12v divided by 1.4 amps = 8.57 ohms.

But, they make led bulbs for this application that have a built-in resistor, to eliminate the error

I've not used one, yet, so can't attest to how well they work or how long they last.
