LED lightbar on N-Fab or similar bar

We have a thread over on another forum about using the N-Fab, Westin, Randy Ellis, Patton Fab, etc. light bars to mount a 30 inch or larger LED bar on the bumper of the 2500/3500 Rams. I'm considering doing this myself but it seems most people have used these low profile style light bars to mount old school round lights. I was just wondering if any of the 3rd Gen or 4th Gen owners have mounted a LED light bar using one of these bars. Here's pic of a 4th Gen 2500 with the N-Fab light bar and a 30 inch LED light bar that I ran across.

I don't think many people are running this setup because most people just put the light bar in the actual bumper, instead of mounting it to where it comes out like that

Yep, most 2500 owners mount a 20 inch LED light in the bumper's opening, between the tow hooks. A few even mount a 30 inch LED bar, but it doesn't fit easily. One company makes mounts for it, but they push the LED bar out of the bumpers opening. I've also seen people grind down the edge of the tow hooks and mount the 30 inch LED to them. But, a member of another forum had a ground down tow hook snap. I've even seen people remove the tow hooks and mount a 40 inch LED bar in the bumper's opening. This style bar (which Westin, Smittybilt, Randy Ellis, PIAA and others also make) would allow you to mount a 30 or 40 inch LED bar and keep your towhooks. I see a lot of these style bars, but most have the old school style round lights mounted on them. I'm just looking for more pics of Rams with setups like in the above pics, or at least opinions on the way it looks.

Looks cool and works great on my truck! Plus it's flush with the bumper so you don't have to worry about someone hitting it in a parking lot

I used a Westin lightbar which used to run round KCs before going the led lightbar route. I drilled holes through the tubing, big enough to fit a socket on one side and the bolt through the other side, then tightened. To cover the the top holes back up where the socket entered, I bought some black plastic caps at a hardware store and popped them in. I can take some pics if you want?

Wandell, that setup and truck look awesome! I really need a bar for my 03. Want it mostly for when we go camping.

Not exactly the same thing, but the westin bars are shorter and look better on the 2500/3500s

This is mine on a 1500, they mount in the same holes as tow hooks, and you dont have to remove the hooks.


Notice is more of a lower profile on the 2500/3500s
