LED tailgate bar problems

So ive been looking into an LED tailgate bar from Recon. im seeing two problems... #1 i think it is made to splice into a factory towing harness right? which i do not have, and #2 what should i do about the port to lower the spare that is in the way?

Most of those light bars you can also splice into taillight wiring pretty easily and it will operate in the same manner. I haven't put one on mine but was looking at doing it and the spare port is there any way you could take the 2 screws off and pull the black part out? At a quick glance it looks as tho you could do that and the hole is small enough that the bar could go above our below the hole and still be visible.

ill have to look sometime about pulling that port off. i love the look of the tailgate bars, plus with my taillight covers my light output is reduced and i could use the extra lighting.

LEDGlow.com has a good bar that does brake lights turn signals and white reverse light. Waterproof too. They even have an installation video on their website and YouTube. They're where my brother and I both got our mood/beat lighting. Good quality company.
