Struggled through full rebuild on 3.7 with defective parts and shop manual type Os but she runs great now,, Almost. After warm the oil PSI drops to 0 at idle randomly until I tap the gas. Not so much as a tick out of it with 15 minutes idling at "0" psi. From reading there is a known issue with the port feeding the sensor. Already replaced the sensor and pigtail. Aftermarket gauge shows a similar drop at warm idle but not 0.

I am trying to disable the check gauges light and hold the gauge in a good position. Assuming this is a switch with only ever seeing two values on the gauge, 0 and strait up. Have tried grounding the factory wire and open circuit. Both ways I have had it display full pressure on start up then 0 pressure next start up.

Do I need a resistor? Is there another possible port to tap into, doubt it. Oil filter spacer with ports for a cooler maybe?

What oil pressure sensor? Aftermarket?

Use OE sensors where possible.

Have you tried a gauge that the oil feeds directly, no sensor , mechanical.
On my 5.7 with less than 10,000 miles , I had the sensor fail .
When I replaced it, I added a mechanical gauge in my dash , I used A-N fittings and a brass tee .
Now I know my factory gauge is accurate,as it now matches what my mechanical spot on.
Always replace sensors with OEM. For the best chance at a successful repair. No matter what manufacturer it was. Things work best with original factory specified parts most always.
