Hello everyone.

I have received this letter twice already, 2 times around the same time last year.

It’s essentially stating to call them up and discuss plan options before my factory warranty expires, but, the thing that bothers me is that my warranty expired nearly 3 years ago. 83c414d1ede8053fef90cf8bfcc8250f.jpg

No, they reached out last year. I was saying my warranty expired 3 years ago.

I called when they first reached out, never got a response back.

So maybe not bs, but still a sales effort.

I’m going to contact my dealer via email to make sure then.

Just let it go. If you were to buy an extended warranty that they offer, it looks like a third party one that your dealer will mark up with their profit margin. If you really want a warranty (my two cents, skip it) check online for some like endurance, etc. Get copies of contracts and prices, then choose the best for you. Buying this through a middleman just adds unnecessary costs.

The dealers extended warranty is twice as much as what my credit union uses. And the coverage from the dealer is half the warranty but twice the deductible. If I spent the $$$ I can get the warranty extended out to 120k miles. And can purchase it at anytime until the factory powertrain is valid.

It would take me less than a second to toss that in the trash while laughing.

That’s what i did, i looked at the number and searched it up, and apparently this is a known scam.

Thanks everyone.

This is just cold contacting to drum up possible business.
No difference from the dealer calling that they’re looking for your particular vehicle for trade-in. Just a fishing exercise.

It's not a scam. It's the equivalent of a cold call to see if you'd like to buy an extended warranty. While I personally never get extended warranties on anything, this isn't fraudulent or a scam.

Dealerships can have agreements with 3rd party warranty companies. The dealership supplies your contact info so the 3rd party can sell you a warranty. If you buy one, the dealership gets a cut.

Sleazy marketing yes, but not a scam. Scams tend to stick to electronic media, as they can more easily be prosecuted for fraud if sent via snail mail.

Like anything, once you get on a list they send you everything you don't want or need because sales is no longer about talking to you directly, they're about mass-mailing. I went and called RAM Trucks directly and got the extended warranty (which the crappy salesperson didn't even offer to me when I bought it). Sill, with the extended warranty already purchased, I get mail asking me to extend it.

Same thing with my home loan.... the same company I got my loan from continually sends me email asking if I am still considering a refinance. I've told them five times I already did, and yet... still... every other week I get the same stupid email.
