Just wondering if there's going to be an increase in the amount of dirt etc flying off the road into the sides of the truck going this route without fender flares? I'm guessing the obvious answer is yes

Yes, definitely. But flares likely won't help your issue. The debris flies up under the flare and hits the rocker panel anyway. If you want to stop that from happening you'll need front mud flaps (which look terrible IMO). I'd far sooner recommend getting the rocker panels 3M'd to prevent the rock chips. In hindsight I should have done that on my rockers and front bumper right when I bought the truck.

K thanks guys, I'll pass on doing a wide stance then. Looks really cool but too impractical for a daily driver

Actually I'm going pass on flares altogether, Brandon is right. Even with my stance unmodified I looked at the splash pattern on my truck today and noticed that even if I slapped bushwhackers on, they basically don't even make any difference because everything hits where they aren't. That would require mud flaps which I agree with him, look terrible.
