I purchased a Rough Country DRL light bar. It has a three position switch, DRL lights-Off-Light Bar Lights. Rather than use this switch is it possible to use the Aux switches in the cab? I am guessing the middle wire of the RC switch is power and the other two wires close the connection. The aux switches already have 12 volts correct? I want to use two aux switches, one for the bar and one for the driving lights. Do I just tape up the RC power lead and use the aux wiring to supply the 12 volts? Thanks for any help!

It appears in the video that he just cut the "switch" wires out and went from the relay. I'll have to wait for the bar to be delivered to see the configuration. Thanks for the answers!

Interesting, I just did a chat with Rough Country and they said you must use their switch, there is no way to tap their relay. That's disappointing!

wire the light up with their wiring harness and check the switches with a test light. it might be a switch for ground and not hot

Thats what I am thinking. Let's say the middle wire is hot, the switch is then sending 12 volts when up or down. So if I taped up that wire and put the other wires into individual aux switches the switches will provide the 12 volts, correct?

yes if the center is hot and the switch just feeds hot to the other 2 wires then you would be able to use the factory aux switches... but if the center wire is a ground and it feeds a ground to the other wires then you will have to use that switch to make the different light modes work.

Update to this in case someone else purchases these lights. I installed them today and used the trucks Aux Switches. As it turns out RC uses two relay switches, one for the DRL lights and one for the regular light bar. They then grab a power lead bring it to their switch. Then up is full lights down is DRL. So simply taking the two leads that go back to the relay from the switch and plugging them into the Aux Switches works perfectly. You also have to tape up that leftover power lead that comes from the relay!

So now I have one aux switch for the DRL lights and one for the light bar itself. Programmed the switches for ignition and everything is good to go!

I know this is odd, but can you show me the light bar without the lights on?
