Did my research and ordered up some 1/4" hub centric spacers from Motorsports Tech so that I could put 35's on my factory sport wheels. All were installed about 3 weeks ago. Mostly driven around town with two short highway road trips. Felt a little vibration over 60mph. Seemed like it was coming from the rear. Decided, because its free, to have my wheels and tires rebalanced as a possible quick fix to the vibration. I think the pics explain the rest pretty well. The lip on the spacer, which makes it hub centric, was cleanly sheared off. ON ALL FOUR!!!

As they are under warranty, Motorsports Tech is sending out another set. Wonder if those will hold up.

That's where I get a little confused as this is my first set of spacers. Is Bora a brand or a type of spacer? Motorsports Tech makes Bora spacers according to their website. But again is that the brand or a style? They said they send out tons of these spacers. They are 1 piece aluminum. They were $50 a piece. I never read anything bad about them on any of the forums. Actually its who everyone recommend getting them from. This is the only 1/4" spacer that they make for the Ram that I'm aware of.

BORA is a brand, made by Motorsport tech. The problem with a 1/4" hub centric spacer is the material is so thin it's not really able to handle any shear. A 1/2" is the thinnest hubcentric spacer that should be made because it can fit over the hub with enough material to be of use.

Based on what I saw when we took the wheels off I would have to agree. According to Motorsports Tech this has never happened before.

It looks to me they are improperly made, with respect to the wheels you're running. They don't have to be a square shouldered step. Your wheels have a heavy, heavy internal chamfer in the hub area. If the adapters took advantage of that chamfer and put a radius on the base of the spigot, or better mirrored the chamfer, it would strengthen the spigot. It would probably help if they were made out of steel. That being said, I understand why they made them that way, they are "universal" so they fit all wheels.

You didn't post a pic of the front side of the wheel or the lug nuts you are using. If the lug nuts and wheels had a taper seat, and the lugs were torqued sufficiently, you shouldn't have enough movement to shear the spigots.

Is this what all Bora spacers look like? I was thinking they were much more substantial than this, but I've only ever used 1.5" spacers that come with their own lugs.
