Loud click from front of truck under hard acceleration.

2006 RAM 5.7 HEMI .During hard acceleration going into next higher gear get a sudden clicking/popping sound from front of truck/engine area. This started around 50,000 miles, have 200,000 on truck now. Since then had to replace engine, transmission and transfer case for other issues. Thought the sound might go away but it did not. Took it to dealer no help due to it doesn't make the sound under normal use. Any info appreciated.

2 wheel or 4 wheel drive?

4 wheel drive , also believe the new motor is a short block

Sounds to me like cv axles possibly making noise.

Btw I should have seen the transfer cade mention, I skimmed too quickly. Lol

Thanks for the info, but this sound has been there for over 150,000 miles. Wouldn't the CV worsen over that many miles? This doesn't seem to be getter worse. Just annoying to have the sound. But it drives so guess I need to count my blessings.

Not necessarily worsen. I just can't think of anything else it could be since you've already replaced the whole drive train and it's still there. Are you positive it's from the front end?
