You could try some grease on the mechanism, I would just remove them though. I removed the entire assembly from my truck and don't miss it.

Today I noticed my active grill shutters making a creaking noise when shutting down the truck.
Needs lube ?

They are plastic so maybe just gunk stuck?
While ur messing with them pull all but top and bottom rows out like I did.
If all get pulled it will throw a cel without a gizmo to lock little motor
Better airflow, no cel due to assembly still there, win win

One on each side on top and bottom.
The open/close shaft is in the center so one on each side of shaft top row and one on each side of bottom row for a total of 4 slats left

I’d offer advice but I’m still mesmerized with the cup holder option you have in your truck. Wife kept telling me to special order a truck and not buy off the lot...best advice - and permission - she ever gave me and I see now I should have gotten the optional cup holders for my Costa coffee
