I have the cat back Magnaflow on my 2012. The exhaust tips have turned a gold color. Has this happened to anyone?

is its something that can be polished off or do you think heat discolored the tips?

I'm going to try to polish it off today but it looks pretty bad. I just came home from 2000 mile round trip and they were like that. Was wondering what others have done.
