I removed my exhaust tips on my Magnaflow 16869, and dropped them off for powder coating. When I say tips, I mean the huge (approx) 18" long x 5" diameter tips and about 2 more feet of pipe.
1. It surprised me how much of the sound of the exhaust was in the tips. The exhaust almost sounds like stock now.
2. It could be my imagination, but my truck seemed to be a little more responsive without the tips on.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?? Are there any good reasons for the above observations??
BTW, the powder coating is going to take a few days. I didn't want to drive around with the exhaust melting the wheel well liner or making a mess, so I slapped some "custom" parts on from AutoZone! Overkill? Yep that's me.
