AV gas contains lead, that is why it is called 100 LL = Low Lead. The old 80/87 and 100/115 had a lot more lead but the 100LL was sort of a compromise.
But the 100LL still has more than enough lead to kill your O2 sensor(s). I went through plenty of those in my Grand National when testing & tuning with 100LL on the days before a big race. Then I switched to a new sensor where I used 117 octane leaded gas and they were dead in about 4 passes.

Here's a recent article of the wonderful-ness of political corruption in our wonderful state of Minnesota...

"All gasoline sold in Minnesota must contain at least 10% ethanol, a fuel made from fermenting sugars from plants like corn. In 2003, ours was the first state to mandate that every gas station sells E10 blends."

Whom ever wrote that line of BS that its not the farmers fault is full of 200.gif it was the DFL aka farmers who made the mandate that ethanol be blended with gas, it was farmers who built the first ethanol plants in IA and MN as a way to get rid of the excess corn they grew every year all in the hope it would raise corn prices so they in turn could grow more corn to be turned in to ethanol, thus rinse and repeat as needed to get more $$, lets not forget leverage come election time....

For anybody who lives where you can't really buy ethanol free gas for a reasonable cost, like us Canucks, this guys video is one of the better ones that i've tried for seperating the ethanol from the gas.
I won't say it's perfect, but for making smaller batches of gas for your lawn mowers / weed eaters etc,it's a pretty easy and simple way to do it.
I have a couple 4L clear jugs that distilled water comes in,that i use,and that usually gets me enough good fuel to last most of the summer for my mower / backpack blower etc.

The recent obscene pump prices have rekindled my interest in this topic to make my own ethanol-free gas.

That video made this look awfully simple for limited-sized production.
I'm going to start small and hopefully work up to producing enough for all my small engines.

lawn tractor
snow blower
generator
chainsaw
line trimmer

The large spring water plastic container looks like a practical-sized vessel.
What are you using for this process, Rick?

Also, I stumbled on this fascinating historical video that many might learn a few things from.

If i'm just making a small batch i use a big glass 4 litre canning jug,if i'm making a bigger batch i use an old water jug for a water dispencer,it's about 20L if i remember right. It's out in my back shed and i haven't looked at it in awhile,as the last batch i made up last fall was just for my little 2 stroke backpack blower, and i just used my glass container for that batch,as it's a little more convient,it's not as heavy and hard to shake when full :waytogo:
