When I change the oil it takes around 6 qts after3-5k I was losing about 1/2 a qt. I normally don't top it off before service but at least this oil I'm catching isn't going in my intake manifold. When I swapped intake manifolds a couple years ago I noticed there was quite a bit of oil in the intake runners, no I know how it was getting there. If you have a 4th gen or a 3rd gen 4.7 I highly recommend this mod.

If I didn't weld 12 hrs a day 5 or 6 days a week then maybe, but my day's off fly. Not to mention the cost of metal , time, and shipping I don't think I would yield much profit. It's rather simple if you have a torch, vice, and a drill.
