Mopar Integrated Brake Controller

Hello all,

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 Express. It did not come with the brake controller. After watching many videos, getting Alfa and the obd dongle, I finished the installation I went in and changed the 4 or so items to change and let the vehicle go to sleep. From the different things I have found once installed and enabled if you press the gain buttons or the lever the dash should show that. Mine does not. Do you have to have a trailer plugged in to do that. Is there something I missed?

Considering I know nothing about these since I've never needed to install one, I do notice the product you link to states it fits:

• Fits 2013-2014 Ram 1500
• 2013-2014 Ram 2500
• 2013-2014 Ram 3500
• 2013-2014 Ram 4500/5500

And yours is a 2016. Are you certain it should work on your truck?

i see that the Dodge Dealer that is selling it, stated that the product first became available in 2019

As the other posters have stated it doesn’t appear to be the correct unit but on my 2018 I do need a trailer hooked up to the 7 pin connector before it will show any gains on the evic.

Absolutely has to state it works on the model year it is to be installed on. I know the Mopar (continental) for an '18 won't work in my '16. Tried it, no joy.

On my '16, if you hit gain with no trailer, it will only show "no trailer connected, or trailer not connected" (can't remember which).

I believe on older models that's what it would do (I think my '17 Wagon said that). Newer models will show the output with no trailer connected, but under the gain 'graph' it shows 'no trailer detected'.

Verified yesterday that the '16's do show the output along with the not connected message

If you slide the manual lever the trailer brake page should pop up on the EVIC. Sounds like you might have the wrong module installed.

What's odd about this is from the '16 model year on(including Classics), all use the same trailer brake.

Perhaps I had an early version number or was just bad from the get go. .
The one in there now, that works, is rev 68288760AC

Thank you all for the information! I have ordered the correct unit as shown above. Will update when I get it.
