Curious to know what mpg everyone's getting on their lifted 1500 with aftermarket wheels and tires. I have a 2022 Ram 1500 with a 3.5 inch lift sitting on 295 70 18s and I'm getting about 15 to 15.5 mpg. And that's without a tonneau cover. Funny thing is, I was getting about the same mpg before I did these mods. Does this sound about right?? Sticker says it's supposed to be 19-22 mpg stock.

There are far too many variables to calculate as the tire and wheel weight are impacting rolling mass. Best option is to do a custom tune for the fuel you run. If anyone concerned with MPG’s runs 87 octane their is no discussion to be started. Air in different parts of the country also is important as density can get very scientific

Appreciate the insight but pardon my ignorance here, how does the type of fuel octane affect the fuel economy? Would the higher octane gas give me a better mpg? Thanks

Yes cleaner burning is more efficient. A lot of people ask me because I lift Rams. There are a lot of people smarter than me on the subject but higher octane is always going to be the better option for fuel mileage and a cleaner engine internally

I'm thinking about getting the Mopar 3.5 lift as well. How much difference is there in ride quality? I have the '22 4x4 Crew / Longbed

So I got the 3.5 rough country lift kit with the monotube rear shocks. It's stiffer than stock which is to be expected. But the difference is very minimal. It might feel closer to stock once I start putting gears on the bed (bed rack, rooftop tent, etc..) But driving 3.5 inch taller is an absolute blast. That's the sweer spot for me, didn't want to go higher.

So I put half a tank of 89 octane today, the other half that's left still 87. Not sure if it was just me imagining things but the truck actually seemed to run smoother and less "restricted", it felt like. Gonna run it close to empty and fill it up with 89, then I'll see what it gives me. Can't be concerned about saving gas when you own a truck, I get it. But I am curious. But yea 89 I think may be the way to go just by the way the truck feels driving. Thank you!!

The higher octane is help keeping the the engine from knocking. When the ECU detects engine knock it starts to retard the timing which lowers power output. It's recommended to run 89 octane but 87 is acceptable.

Lots of factors affect MPG. I drive mostly 10-15 mile trips, 1/3 at 30-40 MPH and most of the rest at 50-55, all in moderately hilly country. I typically see 12-13 in the winter and 13-15 in the summer. Mods in signature.

I am getting 14-14.5 if I stay off the pedal. My tires weigh 71 lbs each…no clue on the wheels…20lbs? Then theres the mods…

Trip computer for me says about 12.5 around town driving and will get to 16-17 with cruise control at 70 on the interstate.
Before I was lifted I was closer to 19-20 on the interstate
