I am going to get exhaust done on my project truck and am in need of mufflers. So I need a good, cheap and relatively quiet muffler. My dad doesn't want it as loud as my truck. So flowmaster is out. Can anybody recommend any? Also I'm most likely going to need to get two of them for true dual, long tube header, exhaust.

The Magnaflow 24" has a nice V8 muscle sound but isn't too loud. With your proposed mods in the future, I think it'd be perfect if you don't want "loud".

They're 100% stainless and packed with a silica glass mat so they last a long time too.

I looked into magnaflow because I know they sound great. Maybe if I can find them for a good price I'll just have the pipes bent and put in the mufflers myself.

Remember, the smaller the muffler usually the less material there is in it to reduce or absorb the sound. If they're bullet style mufflers, they'll be loud.

I'm assuming your project truck won't have cats on it. You're going to need a lot of muffler to shut that thing up. I had a 36" Magnaflow on my '00 Ram w/o cat and it was a SCREAMER. I couldn't believe how loud it still was. a 3 foot muffler! I expected nothing more than a purr. Fired it up the first time and my jaw hit the floor.

I'd look at Dynomax Super turbos, offset inlet and outlet. They are a great muffler, and since they pass the exhaust through 3 times, they work pretty damned well. The Dynomax ultra flo is also a great muffler, but doesn't 'quiet' as much.

Yes I will have no cats. As of next year I won't need emissions on it anymore. I was thinking if my exhaust guy can get me a good price with two maggys I'll be good. I want it to be loud, but dad doesn't haha.
