Hello all,
I just bought a used 2019 RAM 1500 Sport with 59,000 miles on it. It was originally a Canadian truck. I bought it from a used car dealer in my area with great reviews. I have spent over a year shopping. I had an inspection done at my local CDJR dealership. The inspection went well as far as the mechanics of vehicle are concerned. The issue is there are a ton of stored codes for potential electrical issues. The codes are as follows: C2100-9a, B257-00, U01784-00, B2199-66, B154F-00, B1290-25, B128F-15, U 018-000, U0141-00, 40375 CP 1.00 180.00 180.00.

I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on what all these codes are or if they have had similar experiences with their own 2019 RAM 1500 trucks. The dealership told me this could cost hundreds of dollars to diagnose and thousands to fix. Any thoughts? My initial thought was with the truck being from Canada, there is a high likelihood the battery died for the original owner, thus tripping the codes. That said, I have never owned a vehicle with all this technology packed into it. My previous car was a 2005 Toyota Highlander.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A bit confused, why would you buy a vehicle with all the codes displaying? Did the CDJR dealer tell you the codes were there?

There is a lot listed. Found this on the B154f https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:566ed3ef-683d-4ba3-b06e-234787774eb0

Think you better take it back to dealer you bought it from and demand they get it fixed. There is a warranty on it in Ohio. Personally, I would have them buy it back. Maybe someone else might have more information that makes this not as bad as it reads.

Good luck

My friend, thank you for the reply. If you reread my original post, it should clear up your confusion. I bought the truck from a used car dealership in my area with excellent reviews. I then brought the truck to my local CDJR dealership for an inspection. The codes are "stored codes" meaning that they happened at some point along the trucks lifetime. I posted this same issue on another RAM forum and found that the majority of the codes are to do with "low voltage condition." The odds are extremely high that the battery died at some point for the original owner. I was just curious if anyone else had encountered a similar situation. I appreciate your reply, but it seems that you do not have any insight in that regard.

Just drive it to a nearby Chain type Auto Parts Store, ie: ORiellys , Autozone , Advance

they all have Code Readers & if you walk in & politely request for them to run a Code Scanner on the Ram, they will do it for FREE & i believe that they can print out the code meanings

IF ANY of the Codes are for Emissions, out here where i live, they can not sell a vehicle, unless it passes the TEST & they have to give you a Certificate that shows that it has Passed

But looking again, i do not see any P codes
so no issue with Emissions

I did read your post, generally inspections would be expected before the purchase so that a more informed decision can be made so I missed the "then". I didn't read it that the inspection was after purchase, hence my confusion. But my recommendation stands, you need to take it back to selling dealer and have them figure it out. You are spinning wheels when they have the responsibility.
