I got my front windows tinted this weekend with Johnson Insulatir (Ceramic) 35% tint. The shop did a great job, but I noticed when I got home it seems like it has a greenish hue to it when looking from the outside, mostly when looking at an angle where you’re looking at the windshield (does that make sense?). When I’m on the inside, it doesn’t look greenish at all. It looks very similar to the blackish hue of the back factory tint. I’m kind of confused and wanted to ask you guys what you thought or if any of you have had the same results?? It feels like its glass itself and not the newly installed tint….like it has a greenish tint in the glass. I looked on the info stamped on the front door glass and it says something about “70% MIN”. That makes me think “tinted”. I googled it and found mixed results. :wtf2:

Well a lot can vary from one manufactures film to the next but I've always found the ceramics to have a sort of iridescent (a little greenish/purple) sort of appearance on the outside to me which I've always shied away from because of that reason.

Not sure if that helps but either way I wouldn't wait to long to call the guys back at the shop that installed it and let them know your not 100% satisfied. Maybe they will work with you on it...

Good luck!

It probably has some polarization property to diffuse light.

Put on your sunglasses, sit inside and lean your head to the right and left while looking out through the windshield. Does the light seem to change? If so, you are looking at polarization and that does add a bit of a color at certain viewing angles and light conditions.

I had mine done (3M) and while you can't tell when looking straight through the glass from the inside (until I put on my Maui Jim's and tilt my head), when looking in from the outside and up towards the windshield I get this:

Prolly because I blacked out the rear window. :)

I’m not sure if my OCD is more relaxed today, but it doesn’t seem like it’s as greenish today as it appeared yesterday. It actually looks pretty good. I’m really sure it’s not the actual tint but the factory glass that’s throwing in the green hue. I want ceramic for the excellent job it does in reducing heat, so I’m probably just gonna keep it as it is. I’ll see over the next several days if it gets too annoying. I’m still gonna call the tint shop tomorrow and question it. As you can see from the one pic, from the inside, the tint shade does not appear greenish at all.
