Nav Systems Question

Shopping for a 2017 Ram 5.7 Hemi. On the Ram Forum I discovered the url to print out the window sticker for trucks that I have been considering. Great find! Thank you for making that available.

My question: some sticker will read...Uconnect® 8.4 NAV GPS Navigation 700.00
Others will read...Uconnect® 8.4 Uconnect® Access 6-Mo Trial (Registration Req’d)

What is the difference?

There is two versions of the 8.4 radio for the 13-17 trucks, 8.4A is the non navigation radio but it can be activated with a code for $$$.
The other radio is the 8.4AN that has navigation and has HD radio also.
With the 18 trucks they changed to 8.4 UAS which is non-nav and the UAQ which has nav. You cannot upgrade the UAS to have built in nav. Both the radios have Android Auto/Car Play built in
You can also upgrade a pre-18 truck to a UAS/UAQ radio, there is a couple of threads on this forum on doing this.

If you find a truck that you want that doesn't have factory NAV you can always add it yourself. This eBay seller has it for cheap https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrysler-F...803026?hash=item34026a0952:g:5DIAAOSw-eJbzWq1 I bought it myself and installed it on my truck late last year. It only takes a few minutes to install and is 100% legit.
