I just purchased a 2012 ram 1500 that needs a new bed, it was hit in the drivers side bumper which bent the last 12in of the frame, and the bed. I have been looking on craigslist to no avail. I called my local yards and found one for $1250 that needs paint, which I can have done but figured I would ask what years would fit my truck before dropping that much cash. The truck is a 5.7ft bed and is Mineral gray Metallic, I doubt that I will find the correct color but that would be great because I know that there will be less chance of the paint not matching.
I haven't picked the truck up yet, I won it at a local government auction and haven't had time to pick it up, and can still walk away if I messed up in purchasing it. I got it for right at $9k which I thought was a good deal for a truck with only 45k on it. It does have a salvage title though. Any advice would be much appreciated, I just need to have the frame pulled and a new bed, and it should be good. I drove it, and it went straight as well as everything working including the 4wd.
