Ok here it goes. I have always been in the Chevrolet family. I've been looking for a new truck for some time now. This truck will be a daily driver and my first diesel. The truck will be used occasionally for recreational towing in the 11000# - 12000# range. I keep my vehicles for a long time 10+ years. I have driven and talked to owners of Ford, GMC and Ram.
With all that being said I have decided to go with the 2014 Ram Limited 2500 4x4. I like the looks and the drive of the truck. I just don't know much about the product and wondering is there anything important I need to know regarding Ram trucks? I heard about some electronic problems but I believe they are fixed now? Is it true that it is better to have a straight 6 rather then a v8 due to more stress on a v8?
I just want to make sure that this choice will fit my needs and situation. Thank you for your time.

With proper care a Dodge ram will last you almost forever. The 2500 with diesel engine is the way to go for towing heavy loads and still get reasonable fuel mileage.
I was a Chevy man too.
