I have a 2015 2500 6.7 Cummins. About a year ago I bought new tires (cooper Discovery AT3). I had them before with no problems so I bought them again.
Right after they were put on there was a small shaking in the truck between 62 mph and 78 mph only. Took the truck back and the company rebalanced them.
helped for a while but shake returned. Went to two other tire shops and had truck realigned twice and the tires rebalanced twice more. No help.
Changed shocks from stock (it was time 70,000 miles), and had Bilstein's put on all around. Ride was rough and still had shaking between 62 and 78 mph.
Changed shocks to Pro Comp and am very satisfied with these, but still no help with shaking. Took front tires off and checked both from hubs and the u joints.
All tested perfect. Also checked driveline u joints and front u joints, but all are still tight and no play in any u joint.
Just went back today again to the shop that the tires were bought from and they laser balanced the four tires. Still have the shake problem.

How can I tell if the tires are out of round, the inner cords were bad from the beginning or what can be the problem?
I am now at a loss.

You can lift the tire and spin it slowly. Look for any flat spots or distortions, it can be hard to see. Sounds to me you have a defective tire with a ply or tread separation. Vibration at the speeds you indicated can cause the vibration no matter how well balanced they are. You may also notice at 5 mph it feels like the road is uneven when it's really flat.

Bad tires , it happens .

You did not have issues before the new tires, that’s the culprit.

Haveyou tried roadforce balancing ? Lots have had success.
If that doesn’t help find a tire shop that will let you test drive a new set for a week or two.
They advertise that option locally, I’m not sure if its available everywhere, but it could provide answers.

When I put the latest set of Duratracs on my 2500, the tire shop rejected 2 of the first 4, had to get 5 more in to find 2 more good ones.

Balancing works to offset weight differences from one part to another of wheel and tires. Good tire shops actually move the tire around the rim to get the best balance BEFORE they start applying weights. If you have large AT tires with more than 4 or 5 ounces on them, either the shop did a poor job of getting the tire positioned on the rim correctly or the tire is defective.

Large AT type tires very often suffer from belts that are not put on straight, humps in the tire etc. Most tire shops just mount them anyhow and try to balance them out, but balancing does not solve the problem when it is the actual tire that is our of round.

Definite tire problem you did not have this issue prior to the new tires. Find a shop that can do a Road Force balance and that should tell you if you have separation or something wrong with a rim. Strange part is if it was a bad tire you should feel it at any speed unless its so minor you do not really feel it at low speeds and it shows up more at higher speeds.

If you cannot find anyone that can Road FOrce balance tell the shop you purchased from you want warranty and new tires as you did not have this issue prior to the tire change
