Ok, so I'm considering moving up to the new 2500 with the coil spring/air bag rear suspension.

I have a couple questions:

The suspension, front and rear, both hang much lower than my current truck which is an '11. The suspension is nicely tucked up underneath and can't be seen from the sides. On the '14 it's very visible.

Does anyone see this as being an issue for off-roading or making your way through very deep snow such as drifts, etc. on the road?

Also, does anyone have experience with this truck to share?

ANY thoughts would be appreciated.

I honestly do not see this as being a problem as it doesn't hang down lower than the axle. The only thing i could see happening is snow possibly getting in the springs but i don't know what that could hurt. I guess the control arms could rub in off road conditions causing them to get bent or broken but i think it would be hard to do without smashing or tearing other things up at the same time. My concern for offloading would be the airbag option as id like to see how they would keep from blowing the bags when they get stretched with severe wheel travel like on the power wagon.

I have taken my 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab off road once. Lol. Yes I finally took my baby in the mud. Done great. And yes I was in the deep crap and had no issues. The only issue I had was doing it with all season tires instead of mud tires. I took my 2500 the San e places I have took my Silverado with 35" murders. I went in some deep ruts as well. Not to bad there. Like I said, the only issue I had was the tires gummed up in the mud way to easy. Lol, I was slinging rooster tails up 20' high. Lol. I even had a crap ton of mud in the bed after I got out of 1 hole. Only got pulled out 1 time, but I seen 4 other trucks all with 35" or bigger mud tires get pulled out as well. The mud will come right out of the coils. That wasn't an issue at all. It will work it's way out on its own. If you some how get a rock stuck inside them, that present a problem. But I didn't have that issue. I was impressed, especially with only running all season tires.
