Can they hurt over time? Or generally no. Just curious after reading all the benefits.
I know on Craigslist people, specially diesel owners, brag if its never been tuned... is there a reason? Does that apply to gassers too?

Only thing I can think of would be potentially voiding your warranty. But the dealer would have to prove it was the tuners fault. Other than that...nope can't think of anything bad lol

Its a tad different for diesels than it is for gassers.. One being is the added stress on injectors- meaning if it just increases pressure etc, egr if left in place, temps and generally speaking the trans.. For gassers it doesnt add THAT much to be a concern as its is with diesels, some add 100hp and 150 ft lb of tq

A tuner on a gas engine won't hurt anything over time unless you ran a horrible custom tune that had too much timing advance and created pinging issues or was stupid rich and fouled everything. A tuner just optimizes within the limitations of the hardware.

A diesel on the other hand can add up to 130rwhp and 300ft-lb with just an aggressive tune. You can end up with injector and fuel pump issues, generally a wrecked trans, overheated or blown turbos... the list goes on. A tuner radically changes the limitations for the diesel engine since all you need are fuel and air and there's lots of ways to modify both without changing the hardware.

For us with hemis, I'd say the downside is you wanna add more go fast mods after the tuner.

I take it you were on Htc that asked about the superchips that guy was selling along with te diablo tuners. You should be able to pick one up for about 150$ Which isn't that bad for te product you get. An a good diagnostic tool as well

Do you have a link to the place you can get tuners for $150? used is fine with me and I don't mind waiting around if you mean from people selling them.
